1. New Orleans meets Milton

Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs will get their musical paws on a historic theater this weekend. Opening the show is singer-songwriter Bryan Russo.

Allen is from New Orleans and specializes in jazz, funk and “hip-rock.”

He won the Big Easy Award for best emerging artist in 2008. His debut album is “Meet me On Frenchman Street,” which saw him experiment with taking a modern approach to traditional jazz.

Allen and the Underdawgs will get unleashed at 8 p.m., Friday. Tickets are $10 to $15.

2. Drama in Lewes

“The Lehman Trilogy” is told in a three-part story highlighting a family that touched the world.

In the 1800s a man from Bavaria dreams of a new life while standing on a New York dockside. He’s joined by his two brothers in this adventure.

The film is directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (“Skyfall,”

“The Ferryman”) and features Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley and Ben Miles who play the Lehman Brothers, their sons and grandsons.

“The Lehman Trilogy” will be screened at noon, Saturday. Tickets are $15 to $20.

3.Ear candy with Yam Yam

The spirit of ‘70s soul, funk and NOLA jazz gave birth to the Pittsburgh band Yam Yam.

These children of funk (now adults) started their band in 2015. In late 2018, the gang dropped their self-titled debut, which charted on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart at No. 17.

The quintet is Mike Dempsey (keys), Jason Mescia (saxophone), Xander Moppin (bass), Tom Fuller (guitar) and brother Tyler Fuller (drums).

Yam Yam will hold it down at 10 p.m., Friday. Admission is free.
