The Dover Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will host Ken Bodine, Ray Harris, Joe Startt, Danny Watson from the Kent County Chapter 850, Vietnam Veterans of America, and one of their service dogs in training to speak about CASH — Canines Assisting Service Heroes — at its monthly dinner meeting at 5 p.m. Nov. 16 at Roma Italian Restaurant, 3 President Drive, Dover.

CASH procures, trains and provides, at no charge, service dogs to veterans of the Armed Forces who have post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, or who are amputees. The love given and received by these dogs changes the lives of Delaware’s veterans. While these specially trained and socialized dogs do not run down terrorists wearing explosive vests, they provide services and emotional support every day, allowing wounded warriors successful reentry into normal lives.

Dover MOAA is also accepting nonperishable food items on behalf of the Delaware Food Bank at the meeting.

Social hour begins at 5 p.m. and the Table of Honor ceremony will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and speakers. Dinner choices are spaghetti with meatballs, eggplant parmigiana, chicken florentine or veal saltimbocca. To reserve, call 301-904-0228.

Active duty, prior service, retired, National Guard, Reserve, United States Public Health Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Coast Guard and other commissioned and/or warrant officers of the U.S. uniformed services, their spouses and guests are welcome to attend.
