With a recommendation from the Silver Lake Commission, Dover will perform a drawdown of Silver Lake from Oct. 7-18.
All efforts will be put forth to ensure the fish and other water species are not harmed in any manner during this short drawdown period.
This is a scheduled drawdown and the city wants to make residents aware as not to cause alarm should they notice the lake water level changing. This will be an opportunity for lake-side residents to clean up debris and other items on their property.
The drawdown is weather dependent. If there are periods of precipitation during the time of the draw down, it is likely the water level will not have notable change.
The community can keep a look for cleanup events planned throughout the year. In addition to cleaning up around the park area, the commission is considering lake awareness activities such as a flotilla event, kayak-canoe tours and educational displays. Those interested in these activities should contact email@example.com.
