The 2019 Dover Heart Walk, set for 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 at Delaware Technical Community College’s Terry Campus, 100 Campus Drive, Dover, will welcome hundreds of walkers to a 5K designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living for the entire family.
The Dover Heart Walk is part of the American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good initiative, aimed at encouraging Delawareans to make even one small change in their behavior to improve health and wellness.
The festival begins at 8 a.m., with the walk set to step off at 9 a.m.
All funds raised will go towards research and education and will move AHA towards its 2020 mission goal of reducing cardiovascular deaths and stroke by 20% while improving the health of all Americans by 20% by 2020.
Sheila Cisco, human resources director at County Bank, will serve as chair of the 2019 walk.
