The sixth annual Run, White & Blue 5K run and 1-Mile walk will be held Sept. 5 at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus in Georgetown and will benefit scholarships for veterans and first responders.

Registration starts at 5 p.m., and the race starts at 6 p.m. near the Student Services Center. Pre-registration is currently available at go.dtcc.edu/run5k. Cost is $25 for adults who register prior to Sept. 3, $30 after Sept. 3; $10 for students, military, first responders and children ages 2-17 who register prior to Sept. 3, $30 after Sept. 3; and $25 for “silent marchers,” who receive an event T-shirt.

Following the race, there will be a huge family friendly, post-race cookout featuring live music from Annapolis, Maryland, band Jocelyn Faro & The Ragazzi, barbecue chicken cooked by Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co., pizza from Pizza King, oysters from JD Shuckers, ice cream from Vanderwende Farm Creamery and beer from NKS Distributors, Mispillion River Brewing and Revelation Craft Brewing.

An awards ceremony will be held for the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top finishers in each age group.

In addition, the Delaware State Police will have a helicopter and the mounted patrol unit on site, and there will be displays from the Delaware National Guard and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
