Leaders from the Wilmington Veterans Administration Medical Center held a Veterans Town Hall meeting at the American Legion's Walter L. Fox Post, Dover on May 6.

The team, led by VAMC Director Vince Kane, reviewed the efforts of the VA locally, regionally and nationally to work with veterans to provide outstanding health care services tailored to those who have served. Updates on existing and planned expansion of services in the three counties were provided, including the planned move of the Kent County Community Based Outreach Clinic to the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover, which will provide nearly 30,000 square feet of space.

The meeting included Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen, who was recognized for his previous and ongoing work with the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs on veteran homelessness and suicide prevention. Charles Parisan, first vice commander, Walter L. Fox Post 2, was presented a certificate of appreciation for hosting the event that included coffee and snacks along with information tables of available services.

Additional regularly scheduled meetings in each county are planned.
