Kent County Chapter 850, Vietnam Veterans of America, was acknowledged for its help on the September 2018 Stand Down at Schutte Park in Dover.

Chapter member Dave Curnock, who served as co-chair during 2017 and 2018 Stand Downs, presented a plaque from the Delaware Veterans Awareness Center Foundation to Chapter 850 in recognition of “Outstanding Support and Commitment to Veterans,” that made the event possible.

The award was presented to Chapter Vice President Paul Davis by Curnock at its March 21 monthly meeting at FOP Lodge 3, Kitts Hummock Road, Dover.

More than 1,100 veterans were served at the 10th annual event coordinated by Liz Byers-Jiron, a retired Department of Defense employee who serves as executive director of the annual Stand Down, and executive director of the Veterans Awareness Center in Greenwood, Delaware.
