No injuries were reported.

Investigators from the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal have determined a fire near Hartly that destroyed several buildings was caused by accident.

According to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio and the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, the blaze first was reported at 11:56 a.m. at 5937 Westville Road, west of Camden-Wyoming.

The investigators determined the fire started when a person using a cutting torch to cut a bolt accidentally ignited a lawnmower under repair. The fire spread from the lawn mower, damaging two pole barns and one trailer.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $500,000, but there were no reported injuries, Chionchio said.
