The suspect is 28-year-old Lionel Thompson
Troopers with the Delaware State Police have arrested a Magnolia man after he allegedly bit another man.
Division spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said the incident took place at about 10:16 p.m. Monday, March 18 when troopers were called to the first block of East Walnut Street, Magnolia, to investigate a report about a fight.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, told troopers he was at a friend’s home when a stranger came into the house and started arguing with him. The victim went outside, followed by the stranger, and a fight took place during which the victim received a serious bite to his hand.
The stranger then jumped on a bicycle and rode away, Jaffe said.
Troopers found the man, identified as 28-year-old Lionel Thompson of Magnolia, and took him into custody.
Thompson is charged with felonious second-degree assault and later was released from custody on a $4,000 unsecured bond.
The victim was taken to Bayhealth Hospital’s Kent Campus for treatment of his injury.
