Ellendale Community Civic Improvement Association Inc. will host its 39th annual awards banquet at 5 p.m. March 9 at Mt. Zion AME Church, Whaley/McNeil Hall, 18211 Beach Highway, Ellendale.
The keynote speaker will be Julius Muller Sr., chief clinical officer for Children & Families First of Delaware.
Muller leads a team of program managers representing several professional disciplines including education, behavioral health and child welfare. Mullen prides himself with setting his team up for professional and personal excellence at the highest level.
He is passionate about leadership development where he designed a curriculum for aspiring leaders at Children & Families First. He enjoys presenting at leadership conferences across the U.S. and relishes mentoring “up and coming” leaders, managers and supervisors. His expertise for brain science and trauma-informed care have given him an extension platform to share his knowledge throughout Delaware.
Muller can also be found on the campus of Wilmington University where he teaches psychology, counseling and education courses. He serves on several national and state boards advocating for leadership, youth development and diversity.
At the banquet, ECCIA will honor 10 living charter members who attended the first meeting of the organization on Oct. 21, 1980, to discuss how to solve problems that existed in the Ellendale Area. Also, ECCIA will give awards to eight persons who have done extraordinary community work in this area.
Tickets are $35 for adults; $15 children younger than 12. Make checks payable to ECCIA and mail to P.O. Box 327, Ellendale, DE 19941. No tickets will be sold at the door. Food will be catered and served buffet style by Host & Hostess of Mt. Zion AME Church.
