Someone supposedly shot at a fleeing car, but troopers turn up empty-handed

Troopers with the Delaware State Police in Kent County investigated a report of shots being fired at a vehicle but found no evidence of a shooting.

Division spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin said the incident took place at about 8:32 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27. Troopers were sent to the 500 block of Cow Marsh Creek Road after receiving a report of the home’s residents shooting at a vehicle fleeing from the home.

Troopers contacted two individuals, who both denied discharging a firearm.

Both individuals are on active probationary status, he added.

A search conducted using a warrant turned up no evidence of firearms, ammunition, shell casings, damaged property or other physical evidence that could substantiate a shooting, Austin said.
