Jennifer Martin, assistant principal at W.B. Simpson Elementary School in Camden, was approved by the Caesar Rodney School Board to become principal of the school, effective immediately.
Martin is replacing outgoing principal Michael Kijowski, who was selected to work in the Caesar Rodney District Office as supervisor of instruction.
“I am honored to be the new principal at W.B. Simpson Elementary School,” said Martin. “I am eagerly awaiting the start of a new school year here in the Caesar Rodney School District. Our vision at W.B. Simpson is that everyone succeeds, and I am excited to foster that vision with our families, our students and our community.”
Martin has been in the education profession for 14 years, spending her first 10 years teaching third through fifth grades in the Appoquinimink School District. In 2014, she arrived at the Caesar Rodney School District as assistant principal at Simpson.
Martin received a Bachelor of Science in education and a Master of Instruction from the University of Delaware. She is working on her doctorate in educational leadership, also at the University of Delaware.
