Veterans United Outreach will host its Fall Blast dinner dance fundraiser at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at Hartly Fire Co., 2898 Arthursville Road.

Veterans United Outreach, a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible charity, began in May 2001 under Kent County Chapter 850, Vietnam Veterans of America.

“We take VVA’s motto, ‘Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another,’ seriously,” said VUO spokesman Gary Kalmus. "The purpose of our program is to reach out to all of our military/veteran brothers and sisters on educational, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, to guide them to freedom and comfort in their own lives. We work with all who are willing to help accomplish our goals.”

The outreach networks with federal, state and local agencies and coordinates with veteran organizations in Delaware. Their Mobile Education Unit travels the state to community and veteran events, bringing information and assistance to veterans and families in their own backyards.

Tickets are $22 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited number available at the door.
