Jason Sammons is thought to be responsible for burglaries that took place between June and August.

Dover police believe they have solved a number of residential burglaries with the arrest of a 25-year-old local man.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the break-ins took place between April and July at the Dover East Estates Mobile Home Park on South Little Creek Road.

In one case on July 24, someone stole a 40-inch television after breaking into a home through a rear window. Two televisions were taken in a June 26 burglary where the suspect also got into the house through a rear window.

Detectives followed a series of leads in developing Jason Wayne Sammons as a suspect, Hoffman said. They learned of his Aug. 5 arrest by Camden police in an unrelated shoplifting case and charged him with the Dover East burglaries.

Sammons is charged with eight counts each of second-degree burglary and theft of property under $1,500 as well as six counts of criminal mischief.

He was ordered held at the Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a $26,000 secured bond.
