The Dover Colonial Rotary Club participated in the changing of the guards June 29 for the coming year whereby new officers took office for 2018-19.

The ceremony began with outgoing President Mark R. Pugh summing up the club’s accomplishments during the past 12 months and thanking members for their contributions.

Pugh then proceeded to present three plaques for outgoing officers: Lester Link, who had served as the club treasurer; Lois Wilkinson, as the sergeant-at-arms; and Gene Kujawa as the Rotary Finance/Grant/Foundation chairman.

Past president Kevin Yencer proceeded to swear in the new president, Paul Jones and the members of the new board. These consisted of Alex Vaughan as president-elect; the Rev. Dr. Johnny Woods as vice-president; Dawn Sbriglia as secretary; Ceil Jones as sergeant-at-arms; Kevin Yencer as treasurer; and board members Mike Gast, Jean Dowding, Gerri Street and John Daliani.

Jones’ first remarks as the club’s new president included listing the goals for the coming rotary year, namely the implementation of ideas generated by the diverse committees, an increase in membership and the continuation of active participation by members.
