Ricky D. Waters, 29, of Millsboro is charged
Delaware State Police recovered a stolen handgun during a traffic stop in Milton on Friday and charged Ricky D. Waters, 29, of Millsboro, with weapons and drug offenses after he was stopped for a traffic violation.
At 5:30 a.m. on Friday, July 20, a trooper performed a traffic stop on a Lincoln Town Car on Route 1. Upon making contact with the driver, 29-year-old Ricky D. Waters, of Millsboro, a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle was detected. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced 1.7 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia including a scale and an unloaded Hy Hunter 6 shot revolver handgun. Further investigation determined that the handgun had been stolen in Maryland.
Waters was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, receiving stolen property and related charges. He was later released on $6,850 unsecured bail.
