Later determined not responsible for the initial crime

Rehoboth Beach police charged a Montgomery Village, Maryland, woman with two counts of resisting arrest on Thursday.

Around 3:40 p.m. on July 19, a shoplifting was reported at Tidal Rave on Rehoboth Avenue. Police identified 23-year-old Karisma D. Wynn Sheeler as a suspect and attempted to stop her, but she refused. She became disorderly and yelled profanity. When officers attempted to take her into custody, she refused and fought against them. Three officers eventually restrained her and took her into custody. Two officers and Wynn Sheeler were injured during the incident.      

It was later determined that Wynn Sheeler did not commit the shoplifting offense. 

She was charged with two counts of felony resisting arrest with force or violence and several misdemeanors before being committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $5,800 cash secured bail.
