Dover High School’s Aspen Ozer completed a summer seminar at the Air Force Academy as a representative from Delaware.

In addition, Aspen participated in the week-long 2018 Delaware Girls State Program.

This program, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, is a marquee program that has been training high school girls for leadership roles since 1937. Throughout this week long simulated government experience, the selected students assume the roles of future leaders — they run for and hold offices that mirror Delaware’s elected offices from governor to state auditor. The participants learn the fundamentals of the legislative process, the three branches of government and parliamentary procedures. Each girl must write her own potential law and defend it in hopes of making it a law.

Aspen said she was proud to be elected an officer at Girls State.
