22-year-old Charles N. West, Jr., was found in possession of heroin, firearms

Delaware State Police have arrested a Millsboro man in connection with multiple burglaries.

During June and July, Delaware State Police Troop developed 22-year-old Charles N. West, Jr., as a burglary suspect. Further investigative measures found he sold stolen coins from one of the burglaries to a pawn shop in Laurel. After evidence linking him to the theft of a dirt bike and numerous stolen tools came to light, additional arrest warrants were obtained.

At around 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, West was observed leaving a residence on Jones Church Road in Frankford. A traffic stop was conducted and West was taken into custody without incident. Two firearms were found, one in the vehicle and one on his person. Ammunition, drug paraphernalia, 11 bags of heroin and over $7,800 in suspected drug proceeds were also located in the vehicle.

West was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, two counts of felony theft, non-compliance with bond, theft by false pretense, falsifying business records, selling stolen property and criminal mischief. Additional warrants are pending for two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. West was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $2,500.
