Walter L. Fox Post 2, American Legion says the time has come to sign up for the 4th of July parade.

Walter L. Fox Post 2 – American Legion is once again sponsoring the annual Independence Day parade in Dover on Wednesday, July, 4th.

Currently we are accepting applications from individuals and organizations interested in participating.

The theme of the parade is, or course, patriotism, and all participants are asked to incorporate this theme in their entries. Examples from past parades include patriotic dress, carrying the United States flag, singing or playing patriotic music. We leave it up to the participant to display their patriotism. Your group may walk, ride, create a float or any combination of these ideas.

The parade will begin on Hazel Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Dover. Participants will access the check-in site using Pennsylvania Avenue. Hazel road will be blocked off by 3 p.m. and lineup will begin at 4 p.m. Step-off for the parade will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

This is our twentieth consecutive year of our parade and its success is dependent on those organizations with an enthusiasm to participate.

Individuals and organizations who would like to participate may request an application by accessing the Walter L. Fox Post 2 website or e- mail parade chairman Bret Scott at Applications should be submitted no later than June 11. Applications received after June 11 will be handled on a first come, first served basis.

On behalf of Walter L. Fox Post 2 we look forward to you joining us for this special occasion.
