Eric Lloyd was found with a shotgun in his car following a shooting on College Road.

A Dover man who police say was carrying a shotgun and ammunition in his car has been arrested following a shooting in the city.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said 25-year-old Eric Lloyd was arrested without incident in the area of Walker Road and North State Street.

The incident began at about 11:34 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 in the area of Vera Way and College Road when a man jumped out of a gray Acura TL, fired a weapon and fled.

Police traced the vehicle to the area of Walker Road and North State Street, where the driver, later identified as Lloyd, was taken into custody.

Officers found the shotgun in the car’s front seat along with the same type of ammunition found at the scene of the shooting, Hoffman said.

As a result, Lloyd is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, four counts of aggravated menacing and three counts of reckless endangering.

He was ordered held at the Vaughn Correctional Center on a $32,500 secured bond.
