The board of directors of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce named Bob Chadwick as president.

Chadwick, an 11-year veteran of the chamber, served as acting president since the resignation of former President Mark Kleinschmidt in November 2017.

Previously, Chadwick was executive vice president of the chamber and director of the chamber’s New Castle County Economic Development Council. Chadwick had a career in government, politics and business. He worked in public affairs for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region III, served as a spokesperson for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services in the administration of Gov. Mike Castle and was executive director of the Delaware Republican Party through most of the 1990s. After a five-year stint as a marketing officer with First USA Bank and Bank One, he managed his own consulting firm until joining the chamber in 2007.

Chadwick, 58, lives in north Wilmington with his wife of 34 years, Galina Chadwick. They have two sons: Zachary, 25, and Benjamin, 21. Chadwick is a 1981 graduate of the University of Delaware and a 1977 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. He serves on the boards of directors for Jobs for Delaware Graduates, Downtown Visions, Wilmington Renaissance Corp., the Commercial-Industrial Realty Council and the In Wilmington Campaign.
