Lauren Fleming, of Harrington, is one of 33 Lebanon Valley College students studying abroad this summer as part of the college's study abroad program, which includes 12 foreign countries and two stateside internship opportunities.
Fleming, a graduate of Lake Forest High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and special education and studying in London this summer. This three-week study abroad opportunity will immerse students in the culture of London while engaged in a course of study examining 20th and 21st century fantasy in children's literature.
Students will examine classical British works written for children and diverse and multicultural works written for young adult readers. Students will live in flats in ethnic neighborhoods and participate in various excursions to points of interest related to works of literature.
