Dover Capital City Rotary Club is hosting its annual Flags for Heroes project in conjunction with Memorial Day for the fourth year.
This year, the club is also offering local businesses the opportunity to help sponsor the annual patriotic display.
Flags for Heroes honors the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces in addition to community first responders and other heroes who have made a difference in someone’s life. The annual ad names sponsors and honorees.
“Our goal is 450 flags, which will be displayed from May 23-31 at the intersection of Scarborough Road and Dupont Highway in conjunction with Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus, Dover. Proceeds generated from this stunning patriotic display help support scholarships and community service projects,” said David Clendaniel, project chairman.
Three levels of corporate sponsorship are available. Business sponsors will receive a certificate of recognition and appreciation for their business and will be named in a full page ad in the Delaware State News.
The categories are three star ($1,000), which provides 20 flags on display; two star ($500), which provides 10 flags; and one star ($250), which provides five flags. Individuals who purchase an individual $50 flag will also be named in the ad, but business sponsors will be recognized separately.
