T.J. Healy II, creator of “The Veterans Story Project,” addressed the Delaware Veterans Coalition at its bimonthly meeting March 26, at FOP Lodge 3, Dover.

Healy is founder of The Healy Media Group that produced "Voices of War," a project that taped interviews with World War II veterans and additional projects with Korean War veterans.

He is currently working with Vietnam veterans on "Voices of War-Vietnam," which will include individual interviews with a transcription and the edited documentary that will be available to every school and library in the state.

He has a history in the film industry, including his work on the "Back to the Future" movies, "The Perfect Storm" and "Dead Poets Society," which was produced in Delaware.

Healy is also working in conjunction with the Delaware Women's Veterans Monument committee that will recognize Delaware women and the roles they played in all branches and periods of service. It is scheduled to be unveiled Nov. 3 on the northwest corner of Legislative Hall, Dover.

The meeting included a presentation by Ron Sarg, a coalition member and a commissioner of the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs. He provided an overview of state and national issues affecting veterans, including details of a Veterans Summit earlier in the day in Wilmington with U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin.

The Delaware Veterans Coalition is a statewide organization that advocates with elected and appointed public officials on issues that affect all generations of Delaware’s veterans. Membership is open to honorably discharged veterans residing in Delaware.
