Evan mock was DUI and fled from police.

A Lewes man was arrested in after failing to stop his vehicle for a police officer's signal.

On Sunday, March 25, at around 1:40 a.m., a Rehoboth Beach police officer observed Mock driving a red Mitsubishi Galant in a manner consistent with someone attempting to elude the officer, including pulling off the road on two occasions. On one of those occasions, Mock entered into a business and turned off his headlights, only to turn them on and return to the roadway a brief time later. In addition, he committed multiple traffic violations, including driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

In the area of Rehoboth Avenue Extended westbound and Route 1, the officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop Mock, but he continued northbound onto Route 1 at speeds of approximately 50 mph. Eventually, he pulled onto the shoulder just north of the Route 24 intersection but failed to exit the vehicle as instructed by officers. When officers observed Mock motion as if he was going to start the vehicle again, they responded by restraining and removing him from the vehicle. Although Mock continued to resist the officers efforts and commands, he was taken into custody. He and both officers involved in his apprehension sustained minor abrasions.

Mock was arrested and charged with resisting arrest with force or violence and disregarding a police officer’s signal, both felonies. He was also charged with driving under the influence and various traffic charges. Mock was committed to Sussex Correction Institution on $2,356 secured bail.
