Chief Master Sgt. Anthony W. Green arrived at Dover Air Force Base March 26 to assume the 436th Airlift Wing command chief position.
Green recently served as the 492nd Special Operations Group superintendent at Duke Field, Florida. He provided leadership and guidance to 725 Total Force Integrated personnel conducting ongoing special operations throughout five geographic Combatant Commands. He was also the adviser to the commander on issues affecting health, welfare, morale, training, development and utilization of Airmen conducting irregular warfare operations worldwide.
Green entered the Air Force in September 1995. His background includes positions as an instructor and maintenance technician on the C-130 and various other aircraft. Throughout his career, he has filled various roles including flying crew chief, combat aviation adviser, maintenance superintendent and senior enlisted adviser. His assignments include North Carolina, Germany, Florida and various other locations.
Green has also taken part in multiple humanitarian operations and has deployed in support of numerous contingency and combat operations in Africa, the Balkans, Southwest Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific regions.
Chief Master Sgt. Sarah Sparks, the previous 436th AW command chief, departed for a new assignment to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, on Jan. 5. Since then, Chief Master Sgt. Michael Zimmerman, 436th Mission Support Group superintendent, has filled the role as the interim wing command chief.
