VIDEO: Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police on how to prevent becoming a victim.
The Delaware State Police are working to inform the public about the dangers of credit card skimming devices.
The devices, which fit simply and inconspicuously over top of credit card readers, have been found throughout the state, primarily at ATMs and gas stations. Police are working with both businesses and banks to get the situation under control.
The best way to avoid becoming a victim is to closely monitor your bank accounts. If you notice unauthorized transactions, contact your bank immediately.
Anyone with information about this type of crime is encouraged to contact the Delaware State Police Financial Crimes Unit, Sussex County, Sergeant D.
