The University of Delaware College of Agricultural and Natural Resources New Castle County Cooperative Extension will hold a variety of gardeners programs during March.
Workshops will be held at the NCC Cooperative Extension office, 461 Wyoming Road, Newark, unless otherwise noted.
— March to the Garden: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 10. Attendees will join the Master Gardeners in this day of learning designed for both novice and experienced gardeners alike. A variety of topics, giveaways, food and an opportunity to network with other gardeners will be featured. Registration is $55 and includes one track of sessions — for the food gardener or for the ornamental gardener — as well as parking, continental breakfast, and boxed lunch and snacks. — Growing, Enjoying and Preserving Herbs: 6 to 8 p.m. March 28. Attendees will join DCH, New Castle Conservation District staff and Delaware Cooperative Extension to discover how to grow common herbs and how to properly dry, preserve and store them to enjoy year-round. — Pruning Basics: 7 to 9 p.m. March 28. This workshop will cover the basics of pruning common plants, including shrubs and trees, for the health of the plant and the shape desired.
