Dover police are asking the public's help in finding 28-year-old Antonio Powell

Dover police are looking for 28-year-old Antonio Powell after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

The case began at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the woman’s home on Stevenson Drive, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The woman told police Powell had knocked on her door, demanding to be let in; she refused and barricaded both front and back doors and hid in a bedroom.

However, Powell allegedly climbed into the home after breaking a rear window, after which she fled through her bedroom window. As she tried to run to a neighbor’s home, Powell allegedly ran out of her home and punched her in the mouth and chest. He then ran away before police arrived.

The woman’s injuries were not detailed in the press release.

When caught, Powell will be charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, harassment and criminal mischief, Hoffman said.

Police are continuing their investigation; anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Dover police at 736-7111. Tips may be left anonymously.

Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333, online at or through the Dover Police Department MyPD app.
