Officers with the Dover Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole have arrested a Dover man and woman on drug charges.
Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the arrests were made at 11:53 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2 at an apartment in the first block of Par Haven Drive.
A Dover man, identified as 37-year-old Shawn Hicks, was under investigation by police for possible drug violations. Police contacted him outside his apartment and conducted executed an administrative search warrant of the residence, Hoffman said.
Inside, they found 19-year-old Shanaia Wright. Both were arrested after police found 21.4 grams of crack cocaine, 1.1 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both are charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, second-degree conspiracy and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hicks was committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a $26,501 secured bond while Wright was jailed at the Baylor Women’s Center, also on a $26,501 secured bond.
