The robbers escaped with their victim's cash.

Officers with the Dover Police Department are investigating an early morning armed robbery.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the mugging took place at about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven store in The Hamlet shopping center.

The 24-year-old victim told police he was sitting in his vehicle when two black men came up and opened the driver’s side door. They dragged him from the car with one pushing a handgun into his ribs as they went through his pockets.

The ran away after taking the man’s money, Hoffman said.

The first suspect is between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. The second man is about 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
