Police say Thomas Clark, who is prohibited from carrying a weapon, was carrying a .38-caliber revolver.

Dover police have arrested a bicyclist after he was found to be carrying a handgun.

Thomas Clark, 29, of Dover, was taken into custody at about 1:52 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Clark fled from officers after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of Maple Parkway and North Dupont Highway; officers chased him on foot and took him into custody after a brief struggle, Hoffman said.

A search turned up a .38 caliber revolver in his pocket.
