Here are three fun events - Magnolia Applebottom, tea parties and an eclectic mix of dance.

1. Life’s been a drag for Magnolia Applebottom. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

She’s kooky, cool, barely finished school and knows how to put a smile on any face. A midlife crisis at its finest, Magnolia Applebottom is a world-class cabaret performer from Mississippi.

This Southern belle will grace the stage at the Milton Theater, 110 Union St., Milton at 8 p.m., Friday. COST $10 to $15. MORE INFO or 684-3038.

2. Remember having tea parties as a child? Experience the real thing in Smyrna.

Guests will enjoy tea, tea sandwiches, macaroons, scones and other offerings. Gift baskets will be raffled off. There will be hat contests for the categories of Vintage Hat and “Springy-est” Hat.

This event will include entertainment by Delaware Ballet and Providence Creek Ballet Theater.

Two seatings will be held. Guests will raise their pinkies up at the Smyrna Opera House, 7 W. South St., at 2 and 4 p.m., Sunday. COST $30; attendees must buy their tickets in advance as they won't be sold at the door. INFO or 653-4236.

3. Lovers of hip-hop dance will feel right at home when Philadelphia’s Illstyle & Peace Productions comes to the First State.

The company creates works rooted in contemporary, West African and old-school hip-hop styles that are blended with an eclectic mix of dance disciplines such as tap and ballet.
