Tyrese Bailey, 16, was arrested by Dover police

A 16-year-old from Dover has been arrested on drug and firearms charges following an investigation by the Dover Police Department's Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole officers.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Tyrese Bailey was arrested at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 in the area of Acorn Lane and Whiteoak Road.

When taken into custody, Bailey was in possession of 54 bags (5.4 grams) of heroin, 3.7 grams of marijuana, and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Bailey is charged with possession of heroin, possession of firearm during commission of felony, possession with intent to deliver heroin, two counts of possession of firearm/ammunition by person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has been jailed at a juvenile detention center in lieu of a $73,700 cash bond.
