The victim has been identified as Rodney Miller, 25, of Dover.

Dover police are investigating a homicide at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Towne Point Apartments, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

A Dover officer who heard gunshots at the complex at 820 Carvel Drive checked the area and found a vehicle in a rear parking lot. Inside, the officer discovered 25-year-old Rodney Miller suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hoffman said Miller was a Dover resident, but that he did not live in the apartments.

The shooting is Dover’s second homicide of the year; on Jan. 10, 31-year-old Javan Cale was shot to death at the Clearfield apartments on Haman Drive. Two Maryland residents were arrested later that month for the crime.
