Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware recognized Bayhealth Kent General with a BlueDistinction Center designation for delivering quality cardiac care, as part of the BlueDistinction Centers for Specialty Care program.

To receive a BlueDistinction Center for Cardiac Care designation, a hospital must demonstrate its expertise in delivering safe cardiac care, focusing on cardiac valve surgery, coronary artery bypass graft and percutaneous coronary interventions episodes of care. A hospital must also have earned national accreditation at the facility level.

“This designation recognizes the ongoing commitment we have made to provide the highest level of care to our cardiac patients,” said Greg Springer, senior director of operations of the cardiovascular service line at Bayhealth. “We’re driven to find ways to improve outcomes for each patient and to look for innovative heart disease treatment options for the Bayhealth community.”
