The Ladies of the Dover Elks recently donated to two area organizations serving the homeless population.

The organization donated $500 to Code Purple, which provides emergency sanctuaries for people in need when temperatures reach 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Code Purple operates out of churches in Dover, Smyrna and Milford.

The Ladies also donated $1,200 to Home of the Brave, a home for homeless female veterans, raised during the organization’s “Tribute to Elvis and the Memphis Mafia.” The fundraiser also netted $800 worth of donated products for the facility.

The Ladies of the Dover Elks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping local charities and giving back to the community.
