Three can't-miss ideas for ringing in the New Year in the First State.

1. The Rusty Rudder New Year’s Eve bash will put a cap on 2016 with a swan song performed by six acts. Guests must be 21 or older.

The lineup will feature JJ Rupp, The Loop, DJ Andrew Hugh, The Jump Off, DJ Scooter and Love Seed Mama Jump.

But music is just half of the story. There will also be an open bar, photo booth, buffet and fortune teller.

You can ring in the New Year with music on the dance floor at the Rusty Rudder, 113 Dickinson St., in Dewey Beach at 9 p.m., Saturday. COST $100. INFO or call 227-3888.

2. Zoo creatures are excited about turning the page on the calendar, too. After all, they are party animals. And they want to celebrate the New Zoo Year with you.

There will be games and crafts in a celebratory atmosphere with a sparkling-cider toast, leading up to the clock striking noon (but we can pretend it’s midnight). Since it’s outside, make sure to dress for the weather.

Kick off the new year at Brandywine Zoo, 1001 N. Park Drive, Brandywine Park, in Wilmington from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Saturday. COST $5 for ages 3 or older. INFO or call 571-7747.

3. You can close out this year To The Max.

The intense dance band, To The Max, features between six to 10 members and performs the top national hits for night clubs and casinos. The multi-talented, multi-faceted group pays tribute to an overwhelming variety of musical genres including swing, classical, waltz, jazz, pop, hip-hop and R&B and modern jams.

While grooving to the band, guests will enjoy party favors such as champagne/drink specials and a champagne toast at midnight.

To The Max will usher you into 2017 at the Fire & Ice Lounge of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, 1131 N. Dupont Highway, in Dover at 9:30 p.m., Saturday. COST $25. INFO or call 674-4600.
