Hit with birdshot on South Farmview Drive, Dover.
A 17-year-old was hit in the face with a load of birdshot during an incident Monday night in Dover.
Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the shooting took place at about 7:23 p.m. Dec. 12 in the 1400 block of S. Farmview Drive. Police arriving on the scene to investigate a report of shots having been fired learned the teen had been taken to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital suffering from wounds to his face.
The teen had been hit by numerous pellets, but his injuries were not life-threatening, Hoffman said.
Police are continuing their investigation; anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Dover police at 736-7130. Tips may be left anonymously.
