A Felton man, wanted on drug charges since August, has been arrested.
Robert D. Jones, 37, was taken into custody Thursday, Oct. 27 at an apartment complex in Smyrna, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.
Jones was wanted in connection with an August 2016 drug investigation, when he ran away from a home on Skinner Lane in Felton, Fournier said. A search of that home turned up 4,212 bags, or about 63.18 grams, of heroin.
Since then, detectives learned Jones had been living in the Heron Run Apartments with a woman, identified as 25-year-old Ikea Dunbar.
Jones, who initially gave police a false name, was taken to the Smyrna Police Department. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity (heroin), possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity (heroin), tampering with physical evidence, second-degree conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations when he fled from the traffic stop.
In addition he faces charges of criminal impersonation and possession of ammunition by a person prohibited as four shotgun shells were found in the car he was driving.
Jones has been committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a $66,510 cash bond.
Dunbar was released from custody on a $2,000 unsecured bond on a charge of hindering prosecution.
