The Cooperative Credit Union Association announced the recipients of its 2016 Awards of Excellence during its annual convention banquet.
The Cooperative Credit Union Association, serving credit unions throughout the four states of Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, announced the recipients of its 2016 Awards of Excellence during its annual convention banquet Oct. 13 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Eight awards were conferred in total: four for excellence in advocacy and four for excellence in social responsibility.
The Delaware credit union honored for advocacy was Delaware Alliance Federal Credit Union, New Castle. Earning an award for social responsibility was DEXSTA Federal Credit Union, Wilmington.
"Excellence in advocacy and commitment to social responsibility are two of the core tenets of the Cooperative Credit Union Association," said CCUA President Paul Gentile. "We are proud to recognize these credit unions tonight for going above and beyond in promoting a deeper awareness and knowledge of all credit unions by their commitment to advocacy and social responsibility."
To enter the awards contest, credit unions were asked to submit written descriptions on how they excel as leaders in their advocacy efforts before lawmakers and regulators. For the social responsibility award, credit unions were asked to document their commitment to the social responsibility cause for their state.
CCUA’s charitable partners are Children’s Miracle Network, Delaware; Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless; Make-A-Wish New Hampshire; and Special Olympics Rhode Island. The winners were selected by the CCUA team for the extent and quality of their support to both advocacy and social responsibility.
