VIDEO -- Fortify Fest Sept. 29 to showcase national tribute acts including Led Zeppelin tribute band "Kashmir" and the "Spokey Speaky" tribute to Bob Marley, along with local groups performing original songs.
Fortify Music Fest is converging on Fort DuPont and Delaware City Saturday, Sept. 29.
Hosted by Fort DuPont Redevelopment & Preservation Corporation, Fortify Fest is a day-long music festival bringing local bands, and national-touring tribute acts together on two stages for an incredible day of outdoor music. The event will take place on the grounds of Fort DuPont, a historical and mixed-use destination community designed around the water and the great outdoors.
The festival will showcase eight artists, merging the music from some of the biggest names in the business with great local and regional talent. The live music has been curated by Delaware’s own Gable Music Ventures, creators of the award-winning Ladybug Festival.
Kashmir, the nation’s top Led Zeppelin tribute show, will headline the festival with the most authentic representation of Led Zeppelin on the modern national touring scene. Joey DiTullio, an emerging all original, riff-oriented rock band out of Philadelphia, will be blasting their fresh new sound in a performance that is both unpredictable and unforgettable. Fans of Zeppelin will love Joey DiTullio.
The rest of the performers include:
Steal Your Peach – Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead mashup;
Montana Wildaxe – psychedelic rock / jam band with 30 years of experience playing for Delaware audiences;
Spokey Speaky – tribute to Bob Marley;
Nappy Riddem – Washington, D.C. roots reggae;
June Divided and Soraia – tribute to David Bowie, The Police and Joan Jett along with original material.
In addition to the sensational musical experience, festival-goers will enjoy a variety of culinary offerings from multiple food trucks as well as local craft beers from the beer garden. Fortify Music Fest is pleased to unveil a special production of craft beer, their own Fortify IPA.
Boasting an 18-acre parade ground as the setting for the event, guests will enjoy on-site parking, with just a short walk to the stages. Once a military installation, Fort DuPont is now being developed with plans for a marina, hotel, restaurants, new homes, retail stores, conference center, and office space all on the waterfront.
