Here are some fun events to dive into this weekend.

1. Lorraine Hansberry’s riveting drama “A Raisin in the Sun” is decades old, yet still relatable for many today.

Set in Chicago, it revolves around divergent dreams and conflicts within three generations of the Younger family. They face tensions and prejudice in this moving tale as the family struggles to retain their dignity in a harsh world.

Possum Point Players’ “A Raisin in the Sun” will cast its light on Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Road, in Georgetown, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m., Sunday. COST $18 for general admission, $17 students and seniors. INFO or 856-3460.

2. James McCartney will ride his new “Blackberry Train” to the First State.

A little bit psychedelic and avant-garde, “Blackberry Train” is the latest album from the singer-songwriter. The record’s in-your-face single “Unicorn” is infectious and features a mildly-trippy music video.

McCartney, son of The Beatles’ Sir Paul, is a veteran of the craft who has carved out his own path. This will be evident at his headline show. New York singer-songwriter Anna Rose will open for him.

The concert is upstairs at World Café Live at The Queen, 500 N. Market St., in Wilmington, 8 p.m. Friday. COST $18. INFO or 994-1400.

3. Fifteen young women will compete in the 75th Miss Delaware Scholarship Pageant in the Capital City.

Contestants vying for the coveted crown are Miss Dover Mikaila Ryan, Miss Milford Rebecca Gasperetti, Miss Sussex County Emalie Lawson, Miss Hockessin Rachel Buckler and Miss Georgetown Jenna Hitchens.

There’s Miss Newark Sarah Timmons, Miss Greenville Brandi Moore, Miss Southern Delaware Jynequa Drummond, Miss Stanton Charity Cramer and Miss Diamond State Emily Beale.

Miss Brandywine Victoria Swanson, Miss Christiana Donata Leckie, Miss First State Amanda Debus, Miss Capital Keturah Braithwaite and Miss Wilmington Katelynn Mayers will also compete.

The pageant will be held at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, 1131 N. Dupont Highway, in Dover, 7:30 p.m., Saturday. COST $50 for general seating or $65 for tables. INFO or call 800-711-5882.
