The first-place winners of the Kent County Science Fair, held March 3 at Delaware State University March 3, were announced.

They include: Isata Bangura, seventh grade, biochemistry project “Stomach Blues”; Laura Therese Dizon, sixth grade, plant science project “A Seed’s Life”; Zoe Ellerbie, seventh grade, Earth science project “Beauty in the Cave”; Alayna Gigliotti, sixth grade, zoology project “Color Me Hungry”; Madeleine Jackson, seventh grade, microbiology project “Cleaning Power of Antibacterial Products”; Ruhaan Kansagara, sixth grade, engineering project “How Does the Type of Material Effect How Long a Shirt Takes to Dry”; Emma Knapp, sixth grade, behavioral and social science project “Right vs. Left”; Landon Lewicki, sixth grade, chemistry project “How Different Drinks Affect Dental Plaster”; Trey Lodge, eighth grade, physics project “How to Optimize a Looping Pendulum”; Nadia Sheikh, seventh grade, medicine and health project “Effects of Caffeine on Short Term Memory”; and Imani Wright, fifth grade, environmental science project, “Desalination.”
