Bayhealth announced a 96 percent compliance rate of staff members who have voluntarily received this year’s influenza flu shot.

The Bayhealth Occupational Health department offered free flu vaccinations to all Bayhealth employees, volunteers and medical staff. Staff members who chose to forgo the vaccination are required to wear a face mask in patient care areas until the state declares the flu season is over in 2016, which is usually around April or May.

The influenza campaign has been in existence for five years, with the number of staff members voluntarily getting the flu shot increasing each year.
