The project involved removing and replacing the existing wooden deck and handrails. The fishing pier, owned and maintained by the Division of Fish & Wildlife, originally was built in 1986 and has become a popular fishing and crabbing attraction with local residents and visitors to the tidal St. Jones River along the southbound side of Route 1.
