The Delaware Division of Forensic Science will be conducting an autopsy on the remains of a 48-year-old man found dead in his home.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said troopers were called to the 1000 block of Cabin Ridge Road at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6 to check on the man’s welfare after a friend said he had not been seen since the day before.

The man, whose name has not been released, was found dead in the living room of an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso, Fournier said.

The DFS will determine the exact cause and manner of death, he said.

The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released when available, Fournier said.
