An 18-year-old man told police he was he was attacked by three other persons while walking home Monday night.

The incident took place between 11 and 11:25 p.m. Aug. 31, in the area of American Avenue and Kings Highway SW, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The men attacked him from behind, the victim said, punching him and eventually throwing him to the ground. One of the attackers stepped on his neck while the others took his cell phone and backpack, the man said. All three then ran from the area.

The attackers were described as black men between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet in height, all with thin builds. Two were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, while the third was wearing a white T-shirt.
