One man has died in Dover, the result of an apparent homicide, according to the Dover Police Department.

The case began at 3:54 a.m. April 26 with witnesses reporting a single gunshot in the area of North New Street, said department spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

Shortly afterward, witnesses spotted a body, identified as David L. Clark, 29, lying on the ground, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene, Hoffman said.

Because the case still is under investigation, Hoffman said no additional information would be released until a later time.
